The company was founded by Richard Fisher in 1958 as a privately-held printing company serving the advertising and direct response industries. Fisher started as a small operation, printing technical manuals for the Collins Radio Company/Rockwell International. Although initially a sheet-fed printer, the company quickly grew and soon purchased a non-heatset half web press. Fisher owned the first commercial web press in the state of Iowa. Other web presses followed as Fisher began a long tradition of satisfying customers with a focus on advertising and direct response.

Martin Fisher acquired the business from his father's estate in 1985. From the beginning, all prepress and bindery/finishing was produced in house and that tradition continues today. By 1989, Martin realized the advantage of starting a lettershop in order to offer customers a single source that included both print and mailing.

The Fisher Group has over ten years experience providing "turn-key" printing and mailing service. We now offer laser capability and increased lettershop capacity.

Pre-Press
Art boards, disk and modem are all acceptable ways to give us images to reproduce.

Web Printing
Four/five color heatset webs with 22 ¾”, 23” and 17” cut off, produce printed sheets for the bindery or in-line folded material. In-line folded material may take a path through the single former combination
folder to produce 8 - 16 page booklets, brochures and magazines in standard page sizes. The material may take a path through the Blava II in-line system to fold and trim as letters in-line. Or, the material may be sheeted on press for bindery cutting and folding. Pattern and in-line perforations are available as well as in-line paste binding for booklets and brochures.

Cutting
Our 45 ½" programmable cutters with air tables and a power jogger can cleanly cut any material that requires trimming, or any cutting not completed on press.

Folding
MBO Perfection, Baum and Stahl folders up to 26" x 40" can be adjusted for a variety of folds for multi-panel pieces.

Stitching
We bind up to 96 page plus cover booklets with 1-2-or-3 stitches. Our booklet size range is from 4" x 5 ½" - 12" x 18".


Mailing Capabilities
Data Processing
We perform Merge/Purge, disk conversion, formatting, BMC/SCF splits, as well as: Nth select, list splits, suppression, key coding, and programming for special situations. We then format output for our inkjet and laser equipment.

Addressing
We have laser capabilities and can inkjet up to 18 lines including barcode.

Personalizing
Simplex laser pages up to 14” x 17” one up. Our bursting, folding, cutting options can configure a variety of formats for letters, cards, and order forms.

Inserting
One to seven inserts can be inserted into envelopes, with envelope sizes up to 6” x 11”.

Postage Options
We meter and affix live stamps, as well as using permit imprint and company indicia.

Postal Interface
We arrange for plant loads from our facility to the postal Bulk Mail Center (BMC) on postal trucks. We also route trucks for drop shipments to BMC’s, Sectional Center Facilities (SCF’s) and the post office level for better scheduling and for postal discounts. We are an authorized USPS Optional Procedure Company.
